Maritime Festival Sunday 1st June

Beautiful day, not that you'd think it from the pic. Didn't like the full sketch, so cropped it to what it was meant to be, but have uploaded the full sketch too. Too many things I don't like in it! But like the general skyline!

To be honest I quite liked the full sketch. It gives the skyline context.

Cheers thanks! I think there are just too many things I don't like in the full one, that boat in the centre for one thing!

Really nice sketch. Very interesting way of shading - I like it very much. Like Stephen, I quite like the full sketch, but, yes, as you say,the boat seems to take a little from it. The pic gives a lovely sweep of the interesting new buildings along the quays. And the sky is good, very atmospheric.

Likewise I have to agree with the lads the full pic is for me the more interesting, the perspective is aided by the quayside and makes for a more interesting and strong composition - the boat is a great focal point, helps show a thriving bustling city port. This full one tells a full story while the cropped one, although a more conventional land/city scape, loses all of that interest. Great picture and your choice but please don't crop it.

Thanks James for your comment, have left it alone in the sketchpad, cropped the digital!
